I have been selecting fine menswear fabrics from Asia for the past 16 years. It is an intriguing industry.

For men's clothing the mills of Britain and Europe have produced the most sought after fabric, used by the major fashion houses. It is now possible to source high quality, manufactured fabrics from various parts of Asia.

While these can be very beautiful they can also seem to have a "monotonous perfection."

Over the last five years my focus has moved to handwoven silk. I have been searching for fabric that is rich in character and suitable for men's sport coats. It was not difficult to find handwoven silk that was full of character but it was much more difficult to find the fabric that was also perfect for menswear.

After many near misses (commissioning samples that turned out to be beautiful but not perfect) I have now found the ideal combination. It is designed in the United States and woven in Asia - and it is made exclusively for PatrickMoor! The combination is ideal as it enables innovation in design.
